Rounders
(1998) Matt Damon, Edward Norton, John Malkovich.
Rounders
is the must see movie for poker players. There are not
many players you'll encounter who have not seen it. Johnny
Chan (two times world champion) has a small part in the
movie playing himself. It could be argued that this movie
fuelled a lot of the interest in online poker.
The
movie centers around Matt Damon's character, an expert
poker player who loses his life savings of $30,000 in
a single hand of high stakes no limit texas holdem. He
loses everything and starts his life over vowing never
to play again, that is until his good buddy gets out of
jail and leads him astray. NEW!!! Collectors

Maverick
(1994) Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster.
Inspired
by the 1960s TV series that starred James Garner in the
title role, this lightweight Western from 1994 proved
to be a surprising box-office hit. Mel Gibson stars as
card-playing gunslinger Brett Maverick, who meets up with
wily gambler Annabelle Bransford (Jodie Foster) and a
marshal named Zane Cooper (James Garner, trading his old
role to Gibson) on his way to the World Series of poker
in St. Louis. Maverick's trying to raise the $5,000 needed
to join the high-stakes contest, but that's easier said
than done due to a lot of unscrupulous competition and
a twisting plot of tricks and deceptions. |

day remake of the 1960 movie staring Frank Sinatra, called
Ocean's
11. The movie is stylish abosorbing and has an all

Robinson.

to be one of the first movies to glamorize poker The Cincinnati
Kid is a classic about a young players quest to become
the best at his game. It was the Rounders of
its day. |
